Before & After - Project Riverrun Lounge Refresh
A little over a year ago, my parents had me update two of the rooms in their house and I just now got around to having them photographed…whoops, but better late than never I guess. I’m so excited to share them with you guys. Up first is the upstairs lounge room.
This one was more of a refresh as the main furniture pieces were kept or revamped to work in the new space. The room was kind of a mess to be honest (sorry, Mom!) with furniture pieces that didn’t really make sense and didn’t create a clear purpose for the space. We really wanted to make this a cohesive and inviting room for members of the family and friends to kick back and relax in. We also wanted to brighten things up and decided to stick with a neutral color pallet to reflect their beautiful landscaping.
You gotta check out these before pictures and don’t forget to keep on scrolling to see the new and improved after! Please excuse my uber crappy before pics…they definitely aren’t doing the room any favors.
As you can see we kept the sofa and reworked the wood chest to be used as the new coffee table. I used some of my DIY skills and bought some paint and whipped out my sander to give the old green chest an updated look. In the end, I was really happy with how the chest turned out and thought the black really made a statement. My mom and I tackled another DIY project together and made the wall of greenery and florals all picked from her yard. It was an easy and affordable way to fill up such a large blank wall while creating something a little more meaningful to fill their space.
