Before & After - Project Lexington Hills Bedroom
This bedroom needed some major help in the storage department. The old closet was pretty small and the sliding doors were so narrow that it made it rather difficult to access the items behind. On that same wall was a little nook that stored a large armoire. In order to create a cleaner look for that wall while still providing ample storage, we decided to create a custom built-in closet with plenty of hanging room behind beautiful barn doors with large drawers in the middle.
For the rest of the design, we wanted to brighten the space up and create a calming and relaxing environment. So in came all of the blues and grays with small pops of black to help anchor it all. A darker wood floor replaced the carpet and a pretty rug (full of those blue hues we love) was placed on top to help soften up the room. We wanted the fun pattern of the bed frame/headboard to be one of the main foal points, so we kept the bedding fairly simple in order to not distract the eye too much. The gallery wall was placed a little heavier on the right side of the bed in order to help offset the window.
I should have multiple ‘before’ pictures to share with you guys, buuutt I don’t. I managed to lose them along the way (they were taken over a year ago and I clearly did not save them to my computer…rookie mistake!). At least I have one of the wall we created the custom built-in for and because the old closet had mirror doors you can kind of see the rest of the space haha. Check out the before and all of the after photos below. Enjoy!
